South Burnett Accommodation: An Overview

Accommodation For Every Taste and Budget!
The South Burnett offers a wide range of accommodation for visitors and most people are delighted to find that a weekend with us usually works out to between half to a third the cost of a comparable weekend on the coast!

The principal types of accommodation available in the South Burnett are detailed below.

Hotels and Hotel-Motels
The South Burnett has at least one hotel or hotel-motel in each major town and village (and often several in the larger towns). These wonderful old country pubs provide clean, relaxed and very inexpensive accommodation - and some include breakfast as well

Motels
The South Burnett has 14 motels which provide a full range of motel-style accommodation facilities. Several of the larger motels also have on-premises restaurants.

Caravan Parks and Tourist Parks
The South Burnett is a very popular region with caravanners and also has many Caravan Parks and Tourist Parks, many located at popular destinations. Caravan Parks provide powered and unpowered sites for caravanners whilst Tourist Parks also provide cabin, bunkhouse or additional types of accommodation.

Host Farms
Host farms and farmstays are very popular in the South Burnett and the region has many well-established host farms which draw tourists from all over the world (some also offer bed and breakfast services). In general, host farms are most suitable for visitors who want to stay several days and/or are looking for a complete holiday experience.

Bed & Breakfasts
Bed and Breakfasts offer a more "homely" alternative to motel style accommodation and are becoming increasingly popular with visitors. The South Burnett has a large range of B&B's (many located at or near wineries).

Cabins/Holiday Homes
Most accommodation available in the Bunya Mountains is composed of cabins and/or holiday homes and cabins can also be rented at a number of other locations in the region (eg: Lake Boondooma and Lake Barambah also have cabin accommodation). Like host farms, these are most suitable for long-stay visitors. Prices vary depending on the season.

Conference Venues
The South Burnett's handy location to most major population centres of South-East Queensland - coupled with our low costs and unique destinations - have made the region an increasingly popular choice for conferences in recent years. The South Burnett has a range of facilities that are suitable for conferences of up to several hundred people.
